The UK’s leading event for off-the-beaten-track travel returns to Islington’s Business Design Centre this weekend. Over 100 travel specialists will be exhibiting, and TV presenter & bestselling author Simon Reeve will be headlining, alongside a packed agenda of explorers and speakers from around the world.

Holding Time is a new, free exhibition at Lauderdale House in Highgate. It celebrates the quiet, often overlooked moments that root us in the natural and familial world. It features works by three artists, spanning paintings, drawings, and printmaking, with each artwork capturing the subtle beauty of everyday life.

Date: Saturday 10th January - Monday 9th February

LOANHOOD is hosting a clothes swap at St Andrew’s Church in Islington this weekend, and Fiksy, a community book-swapping platform, will be joining them. Bring along clothing, accessories, footwear and books that you’re happy to pass on, and you can swap them for something new on the day.

Grow is a music & arts venue in Hackney Wick, and this January they’re hosting an amazing lineup of free events to kick off the year on a high note. They’ve transformed their space into a warm, welcoming snug for the winter months, and will be hosting everything from live jazz to soulful sessions and brilliant DJ sets.

Date: Every Thursday-Sunday until 31st January

The Board Walks bring curious people together to walk 5 miles (10,000 steps) and brainstorm every Saturday morning. Setting off from Vauxhall, they create a clique-free environment for people of all ages, backgrounds, and industries to connect and kickstart the weekend with energising, meaningful conversations.
