Bankside is reinventing the “Frost Fair” this weekend. Between 1605-1814, the surface of the River Thames froze over 24 times, so the people of Bankside created “Frost Fairs” on the ice, featuring markets, food, drink, and entertainment. This year’s retelling will feature street performances, traditional games, music, arts & craft workshops, and a life-size puppet elephant.

Dates: Saturday 31st January (11am-11pm)

Vibrance is a new free festival of light and sound arriving in the City. Featuring more than a dozen artworks by emerging artists from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the festival transforms five historic landmarks, with colour, music and storytelling, using cutting-edge technology.

Date: Thursday 29th January & Friday 30th January (5.30pm-8.30pm)

The Fresh: Art Fair is returning to Ally Pally this weekend, featuring up to 75 galleries, 750 artists, and 7,500 original prints, paintings, sculptures, and ceramics. There will be work from world-renowned names as well as rising stars at accessible prices, starting from £100. Plus, cafes, a licensed bar, free art workshops, artist demos and more.

Celebrate 19 years of Eataly, the UK’s biggest Italian food court near Liverpool Street, with a 2-day walk-around foodie festival. Expect tasting stations, regional Italian dishes, wines, cocktails, and live food demos. Tickets get you a festival glass, a pouch, and a pocketful of tokens to spend as you please as you walk around the festival.

This new immersive pop-up planetarium experience has arrived at Battersea Power Station for a limited time. Using state-of-the-art tech, astronomy and science films are brought to life on a spherical 360° screen, allowing you to experience distant galaxies and extraordinary cosmic phenomena.
